Managing Projects in an Organisation

Developing the essential skills for effective project leadership.

Most organisations need to assemble project teams quickly to manage constantly changing customer and market demands. A cohesive and motivated project team is essential if projects are to achieve their objectives. Whilst organisations normally have a clearly defined Project Management process, what they lack is project leaders with the right level of ‘soft’ management skills. The effective project manager is required to balance their time between defining, planning, managing, coaching, influencing and motivating individuals, whilst ensuring all key stakeholders contribute to delivering the agreed objectives on-time and within budget. These needs are constantly interacting upon each other. This programme is designed to provide an intensive introduction to the world of delivering projects through effective people management, and is highly practical. The return on investment starts the minute the delegate re-enters their working environment.

The key components of this programme are:

Defining and communicating the Project – Define the project scope, strategic objectives, plan and business case, and communicate clearly and concisely, ensure understanding across all stakeholders.

Planning, controlling and organising resources – Break down complex projects into SMART objectives and action plans, define
and organise resources and implement performance measures to stay in control.

Collaborative working – Motivate, influence and inspire stakeholders, through ownership and accountability, and hold people accountable to deliver results.

Monitoring tasks, individuals and the team – Apply a range of coaching tools and techniques to facilitate problem
solving, gain willing co-operation, manage potential conflict and develop positive team culture.

Developing Inner Self Confidence – Develop inner self confidence to make the right impact and positively
influence team members, peers, management and customers.
